We have a covered balcony off our living room that feels like wasted square footage once the weather turns, and I’d love to enclose it enough to use most of the year without making it feel like a dark box. Before I even approach our strata or condo board, I’m trying to sort out the real-world issues: ventilation, moisture, insulation, and how to keep it from looking tacked-on.
For those of you who enclosed a balcony or covered patio, what do you wish you’d known before you started—and would you do it again?
