Samm Simon hits halfway - CTV News catches him at 113 KM through Ayton (2026-05-14)

Samm Simon just hit halfway. CTV News caught him through Ayton on the way to Tobermory — 113 KM down, 138 to go.

“My wife has terminal cancer. This is her third bout of it, and she’s my hero. What she goes through, this is nothing what I’m doing.” — Samm Simon, 57, Stratford → Tobermory

The numbers so far

  • Day 1: Stratford
  • Day 3: overnighting in Hanover
  • Total covered: 113 KM in three days
  • Remaining: 138 KM through the Bruce Peninsula to Tobermory
  • ETA: roughly Monday — a marathon a day, give or take.

Why he’s running

The 251 KM is for his wife and for three cancer organizations. Awareness is half the lift; donations are the other half.

113 KM down. 138 KM still ahead.

At 57 years old, Samm Simon is running from Stratford to Tobermory for something far bigger than himself. He’s doing it for his wife battling terminal cancer for the third time and to support cancer organizations helping others fight the same battle.

“What she goes through, this is nothing what I’m doing.”

That kind of strength deserves support. Donate, share, or simply help spread the word. Every bit matters.
