Mississauga Detached: Full Exterior Transformation 2026

Sharing our complete exterior renovation in Mississauga (Erin Mills area, 1988 two-storey detached). The house was original — aluminum siding, original windows, dated front entry, tired landscaping. Now it looks like a different property.

What we did:

  • Removed aluminum siding, installed HardiePlank fibre cement (Cobblestone Grey)
  • Replaced all 14 windows (Energy Star triple pane, Inline Fiberglass)
  • New front door (fiberglass, with sidelights)
  • New soffit, fascia, and eavestroughs (6-inch, black)
  • Front yard interlock (driveway, front walkway, steps — Unilock Brussels Dimensional)
  • Front yard landscaping (garden beds, ornamental grasses, Japanese maple)
  • Exterior painting of trim, garage door, and shutters (SW Iron Ore)

Cost breakdown:

Work Cost
HardiePlank install (materials + labour) $38,500
Windows (14, triple pane, installed) $28,200
Front door + sidelights $5,800
Soffit/fascia/eavestroughs $8,400
Interlock (driveway + walkway + steps) $24,600
Landscaping $9,200
Exterior paint (trim, garage, shutters) $3,800
Total $118,500

The transformation took 6 weeks total (overlapping trades). The house went from looking its age to looking contemporary. Comparable renovated properties in Erin Mills are listing $200,000+ above unrenovated equivalents at our size.
