Why Some Cities Are Limiting Full Home Gut Renovations

These days, I see discussion about cities becoming more strict with restoration of full home gut , and I noticed that a lot of homeowners still know how much things have changed until their permits suddenly get delayed.
The way I see it, it’s not just about paperwork. Many cities are facing challenges with their old infrastructures, and the overall condition of buildings. So, when a homeowner plans to completely demolish his/her house and reconstruct it, the evaluation is more than the one for lesser repairs.
Also, there is the housing aspect of it. Cities in certain regions are now becoming wary of the entire community gradually converting into luxury reconstruction districts and driving out people that have been there for long.
Although, extensive renovations still occur, especially for old unstable houses , but these days, clearances are no longer as quick as they were few years ago.

The worst mistake a homeowner can make right now is thinking that renovation process is still as easy as it used to be.

Makes sense honestly. Full gut renovations probably create a lot more waste and disruption compared to improving parts of a home gradually over time.

Full gut renovation cause more problem than they solve

Yes it’s true that the worst mistake a homeowner can make right now is thinking that renovation process is still as easy as it used to be.

Renovation process isn’t as easy as people think because in the process of one renovation there might be some complications or other issues

As a result, approvals for major renovations are more detailed and slower than before.

This is a really good point honestly speaking
