What STOOD OUT FOR ME ABOUT SAMM'S 251 KM RUN IS NOT THE DISTANCE

Obviously 251 km is insane physical work, but honestly that’s not even the part that got me curious me the most after reading through everything.

What really occupied my thoughts was the discrete tone of the whole campaign.

Most online fundraisers now feel like they almost require people to publicly relive their worst moments just to get attention.

Always like turning deeply personal situations into something the entire internet consumes.

The internet rewards emotional exposure really heavily, especially when health issues are involved.

Therefore Sometimes it feels like privacy is the price of getting support online. This campaign has been a very different from that.

Samm has been consistent on focusing on dignity, local impact, and helping people rather than turning someone’s personal situation into content.

Even the updates seem designed around respect first and publicity second.

What I also noticed is how much emphasis they put on community instead of focusing on one person’s pain.

Instead of “This person is going through cancer, he needs help”, it has been more like, “here’s a difficult thing being done for a meaningful reason, and here’s how everyone of us can support each other through it”.

That has made me particularly interested and genuinely wish Samm success in this project.

And weirdly, I think that’s part of why the story sticks with people. The internet is loud and performative most of the time that something quieter and more respectful stands out immediately.

I’m looking forward to How the rest of this journey unfolds
