I’ve caught myself doing this a few times. Something stops working perfectly, but instead of fixing it, you just adjust how you use it. Maybe a door doesn’t close smoothly anymore, so you push it a certain way. Or something feels slightly off, but you’ve gotten used to it.
It becomes normal without you even realizing it.
Then one day someone else notices it immediately, and you’re like… oh.
That’s when you realize you’ve been working around a problem instead of actually solving it. It’s kind of funny, but also a bit concerning when you think about how many small things we ignore like that.
Now I try to be more aware of what I’m “adjusting to” because those are usually the things that need attention.
It’s surprising how people slowly adapt to little inconveniences around the house without realizing it. After something finally gets fixed, that’s usually when the old problem suddenly feels impossible to ignore.
