A lot of us underestimate how free it feels when a renovation project is finally finished.
At the beginning, the excitement is peak. And you imagine the final results, and how much better the place will look at the end of the project. But once the renovation starts, reality kicks in. Dust, noise, delays, unexpected costs and bills, quick decision making, and disrupted schedule will exhaust you mentally after a while.
This is why completing the renovation always feels as if it’s more than just a renovation.
The relief that comes from seeing tools disappear, and furnitures returning to their normal places, tells you that your daily life is slowly becoming stable again.
Also, simple things like having a quiet evening without construction noise or being able to fully use a room again would really feel satisfying in ways people didn’t expect.
I also think finishing a renovation restores a sense of mental calm. Once everything is completed, that background stress finally disappears.
