we are looking at redesigning our main bathroom because the current layout is terrible. Right now, when you open the door, it almost hits the toilet, and the sink vanity is crammed into a tight corner making it hard to move around.
The obvious fix is to swap the toilet and the sink locations, but I’ve heard that moving plumbing lines under the floor can get insanely expensive and complicated. The house is on a concrete slab, so I assume they would have to bust up the floor to move the drain.
Has anyone here actually moved their toilet or shower plumbing during a layout redesign? Is the extra cost worth it for a better layout, or should I just try to find a smaller vanity and live with the awkward setup?
Moving plumbing in a small bathroom only really makes sense if the layout change is worth the extra cost and hassle otherwise it’s usually better to work with what’s already there.
Busting a slab to move plumbing is an expensive, dusty nightmare. Instead, try a space-saving corner toilet or a floating vanity. It fixes the layout flow without breaking the bank.
