RIVARC Drafting Design Interiors — BCIN-Certified Architectural Drafting & Interior Design in Temiskaming Shores, ON

RIVARC Drafting Design Interiors (stylized “rıvʌrc”) is a design-first firm in Temiskaming Shores, Ontario, built around owner Sean Rivard, a BCIN-certified architectural designer who has worked in architecture and engineering offices in four cities and two countries since graduating in 2012. The shop produces the paperwork that makes a home renovation or custom build legally buildable in rural Ontario — certified construction drawings, Ontario Building Code compliance review, by-law review, 3D modelling and scanning — and pairs that with an in-house interior-design workflow on finishes, textures, and colour.

Services

  • Preliminary design — conceptual planning, options studies, massing and layout explorations
  • Certified construction drawings for building permits — issued under Sean Rivard’s BCIN (Building Code Identification Number) so drawings meet the Ontario Building Code’s designer-qualification requirements
  • Building-code and municipal by-law review
  • 3D modelling and 3D scanning — in-house 3D scanning is unusual for a Northern-Ontario design shop; supports as-built drawings on renovation projects
  • Interior design — finish selection, material palettes, colour, and furnishings guidance
  • Scope: decks, additions, interior renovations, and complete new builds

Service area

RIVARC’s office at 43 Armstrong Street North is on the New Liskeard side of Temiskaming Shores. The firm serves Temiskaming Shores (New Liskeard + Haileybury + Dymond), North Cobalt, the Town of Cobalt, Earlton, Englehart, Temagami, and the Temiskaming District generally.

Why it’s on home.renovation.reviews

A BCIN-certified designer who is separate from the contractor is an editorially important role in rural Ontario. Most Temiskaming-District GCs do their own drawings or sub out to a designer case-by-case; going through a BCIN designer first — before lining up trades — gives a homeowner permit-ready drawings, a real set of specifications the contractors can price against, and a pass on the by-law review. RIVARC is the directory’s second dedicated BCIN design-first anchor, joining TCK Designs in Mindemoya, Manitoulin Island. Together they give the directory a North-Shore / Algoma counterpart (TCK) and a Temiskaming-District counterpart (RIVARC) for Northern-Ontario homeowners who want a design-before-build workflow.
