Quartz vs Granite countertops if you have a busy kitchen?

we are finally planning a kitchen remodel and need to choose new countertops. We are torn between quartz and granite. I have two young kids, so things get spilled constantly and the counters take a beating with juice, spaghetti sauce, all that stuff.

I read that quartz doesn’t need to be sealed and doesn’t stain easily, which sounds perfect for us. But then someone else told me that hot pans can burn quartz easily because of the resin in it, whereas granite can handle the heat.

For those of you who actually cook a lot, which one holds up better in real life? I don’t want to spend all this money on new cabinetry and counters just to ruin them in the first month.

Both of them are great and last long, it depends on your choice

I think granites is preferable, easy to clean and maintain especially with Home that have kids

For a busy kitchen, quartz usually feels easier to live with less maintenance, easier cleaning, and you don’t have to think about sealing or stains as much. Granite still looks amazing, but it needs a bit more care over time.
