Good lighting, furniture placement, wall colors, and room layout all play a major role in how relaxing a living room feels. Even smaller upgrades like better curtains, improved lighting, or reorganizing furniture can completely change the atmosphere.
I also believe balance is important. A room can look modern without becoming too crowded or difficult to maintain.
