I used to think lighting was just lighting. As long as the room is bright enough, that’s it, but recently, one of my bulbs stopped working, and instead of replacing it immediately, I started using a softer light in that space.
At first, it felt dim. But after a few days, I noticed something I actually preferred it.
The room felt more relaxed, especially in the evening. It didn’t feel harsh or too bright. Before that, everything was just one level of brightness all the time, and I never questioned it.
Now I’m thinking of changing a few other lights around the house to see how it affects different spaces.
It’s funny how something so simple can change how you feel without you even realizing it at first.
Do people actually plan lighting based on mood, or is it just something you adjust later after living in the space?
