Fixing a jammed garbage disposal

Kitchen sink completely backed up this morning with gross, greasy water. The garbage disposal just made a clicking sound and hummed instead of spinning. Knew some food scrap or bone was wedged tight inside the blades.

Had to use the little hex wrench under the sink to manually turn the flywheel from the bottom. The nut was completely seized up from rust and old food gunk. Had to throw my entire weight onto the wrench just to get the motor shaft to budge a millimeter.

Once it broke loose, had to reach inside the drain with pliers to pull out the blockage. Pulled out a massive, slimy chunk of raw chicken skin that the previous owner must have dropped down there. The smell was absolutely foul.

Ran the cold water and flipped the switch. The blades spin perfectly now without any humming. The sink drains instantly. The disposal is clear.

Fixing a jammed garbage disposal always feels like one of those problems that looks minor until the whole kitchen suddenly becomes unusable. Usually it’s something small causing it, but it still turns into a stressful mess fast.

Fixing a jammed garbage disposal can be frustrating because I’ve done it before, but you’ll get it in the end

I also have that type of experience before it is very frustrating and annoying what’s you still achieve what you want at the end thanks for your experience I really appreciate
