Total Quality Construction has been remodeling kitchens and bathrooms in the Toledo/Sylvania area since 2001. Scott Hinz founded the company as a carpenter contractor, and it grew steadily — by 2004 they had around 40 in-house carpenters. In 2007 they got licensed in Toledo specifically as a remodeling contractor (and in lead abatement), then added a Michigan license in 2013.

The firm made a deliberate move to design-build in 2014 when they brought draftsman Scott Lewis on staff to handle plans and drawings in-house. That’s the model they still run: one contract covers design, drawings, and construction. In 2023, they opened a physical Design Gallery at their Sylvania office where clients can walk through a fully functional remodeled kitchen and bath before committing to anything.

Scott Hinz was elected President of the Professional Remodelers Organization (PRO) in 2019 and joined the local BBB board in 2024.
