This Might Be Unpopular, But Not Every Space Needs to Be Optimized

This might be unpopular, but I’m starting to feel like not every space in a house needs to be fully optimized or “maximized.”

These days, everything is about making use of every corner storage under stairs, multi-use furniture, hidden compartments and yes, it’s smart.

But at some point, it starts to feel a bit forced.

I’ve seen spaces where every single area has a function, and somehow it ends up feeling tight instead of comfortable. Like there’s no room to just exist without purpose.

Recently, I cleared out a small corner in my place instead of trying to “use” it, and weirdly, it made the whole space feel more relaxed.

It’s not doing anything special just empty space but it changed the feel of the room.

Now I’m wondering if we sometimes overdo this “every space must be useful” mindset.

Maybe leaving some areas simple (or even empty) is not a bad thing.

Do you think every part of a home should have a defined purpose, or is it okay to leave some space just as space?

Thanks for this post bit I believe spaces need to be optimised to be made more functional.

I think it’s important to leave a space as just space, just in case there’s need for miscellaneous things

Completely agree. Empty space can make a home feel calmer and more breathable. Not every corner needs a job to matter.

I actually agree with this. Not every corner needs to be turned into storage or optimized sometimes leaving a space simple makes the whole house feel more breathable and less stressful.

Thanks I just found out that space have it own important roles in renovating
