Samm Simon, Toronto renovator and long-time member of the LF Builders team, is running 251 km to raise money for cancer research.

Not a relay. Not a staged event. 251 consecutive kilometres.

Cancer touches virtually everyone in this community. Samm chose a challenge that tests genuine limits to match the weight of the cause — because a number that large is hard to ignore.

About the Challenge

The 251 km run is Samm’s personal commitment to raise funds for cancer research. It is a solo effort, run in full — no stages, no support team covering segments on his behalf. The distance was chosen deliberately: it is far enough to be uncomfortable to read, let alone run.

LF Builders has been part of the Toronto renovation community for over 50 years. In that time we have built relationships with thousands of homeowners, contractors, and trades across the GTA — and we have seen cancer affect too many of them. Samm’s run is personal, and it is for all of them.

Samm has been training seriously for this and the 251 km route is not symbolic — it maps directly to the distance across the fundraising goal milestones. Every segment completed unlocks the next checkpoint. The cancer research organizations receiving the funds are specifically focused on early detection and treatment access, which is where funding gaps are most acute.
