I removed a wall, and later regretted it

At first, removing the wall was a great idea and I was happy about it

My space looked bigger, brighter, and more modern immediately. Everything felt more open, and I honestly enjoyed it for the first few days, then real life started.

I quickly realized that open space also means less privacy. Before, there was at least some separation between rooms. People could sit somewhere quietly, take calls, rest, or do their own thing without everybody seeing everything.

After removing the wall, that feeling disappeared completely.

Anytime visitors came over, it suddenly felt like there was nowhere private left in the house. Noise traveled everywhere too. If somebody was watching TV, cooking, talking, or playing music, the whole space felt involved whether you wanted it or not.

What surprised me most is that the house still looked great

, but it felt less comfortable to actually live in daily.

That experience made me realize something important. Sometimes walls are not just there to divide space physically. They also create privacy, quietness, and separation that people only start appreciating after it disappears.

Removing a wall always sounds like a straightforward upgrade until you actually live with the change and start noticing what it affected in the layout. Sometimes you only realise what it was doing for the space after it’s gone.

The wall might be used for many thing so I won’t remove mine
