# YYC General Contractors — Home Renovation & Basement Development in Calgary, AB

YYC General Contractors is a Calgary-based renovation firm carrying a 4.9 client rating — one of the stronger scores in the directory for an Alberta contractor. The name is a nod to Calgary’s IATA airport code, a shorthand that signals both local pride and the fact that this is a company built specifically for the Calgary market rather than a franchise expanding into it.

The team’s standout service is basement development: converting unfinished Calgary-area basements into functional living spaces, legal suites, home offices, or recreation rooms. Alberta’s basement development market has its own regulatory context — permits, egress requirements, and energy code considerations specific to the province — and YYC’s familiarity with Calgary building standards translates directly into fewer mid-project delays.

## Services

- **Basement Development** — The firm’s flagship service. Full basement finishing from rough concrete to move-in ready, including framing, insulation, drywall, flooring, electrical rough-in coordination, and finishing details. Legal secondary suite buildouts with appropriate permitting are within scope.
- **Kitchen Renovations** — Cabinet replacement, countertop upgrades, layout adjustments, and appliance integration. YYC provides detailed upfront quotes before any work begins, which helps clients plan kitchen projects with confidence.
- **Bathroom Renovations** — Tile, fixtures, vanities, and plumbing coordination. The team handles both standard refreshes and full-scale bathroom expansions.
- **Home Renovation — General** — Broader residential projects including additions, flooring, and scope-flexible home improvement work across Calgary’s residential neighbourhoods.

## Service Area

YYC General Contractors serves Calgary and the surrounding Calgary Metropolitan Region including communities such as Airdrie, Cochrane, Chestermere, Okotoks, and High River.

## Why it’s on home.renovation.reviews

Calgary’s renovation market is one of Canada’s most active, driven by a housing stock that skews toward post-1990 builds with large unfinished basement footprints. YYC General Contractors’ specialization in basement development and verified 4.9 client rating made it a high-value addition to the Alberta section of the directory.
