# Where to Get Affordable Quality 2×4 Lumber in Chicago

If you’re building or doing small DIY projects, knowing where to buy good lumber is key. I usually go to:

- Keough Lumber, 3333 N Milwaukee Ave – They have solid-grade pine and fir, and the staff help with grading.

- Rockford Lumber, 2201 W Belmont Ave – Great for bulk purchases, and they cut to size on request.

Tip: Avoid big box stores for specialty cuts. They overcharge and stock quality varies. Always check for warping or knots that might weaken your project.
