During a remodel in Boise, Idaho, a contractor said something that felt backwards:
“Live with it unfinished for a bit.”

The homeowner was confused. Why pause when momentum was good? But they waited. Two weeks of using the space without final trim or paint.

What happened next saved money.

They realized the vanity was slightly too close to the door. The light switch placement felt off at night. Small changes were made before anything was locked in.

Renovation does not always need speed. Sometimes hesitation is strategy. A short pause can reveal problems that drawings never show.

The best projects are not rushed. They are tested.
