In Boise, Idaho, a backyard was mostly grass and weeds. The homeowners rarely used it, and the space felt wasted. Instead of a full remodel, they added a simple stone patio, a fire pit, and a few weatherproof chairs. Solar lights were placed along the paths, and potted plants added color. In one weekend, the backyard went from neglected to the most used space in the house. Outdoor renovations do not have to be massive.
