# Southside Builders Mart (1990) Ltd — Building Supplies and Hardware in Oliver, BC

There is a particular kind of institutional knowledge that builds up when a family runs a hardware and building supply store for more than 30 years in the same community. The Belton family — Kathie, Blake, and Troy — bring over 50 years of combined building supply industry experience to Southside Builders Mart, which has been operating out of 5596 BC-97 in Oliver since 1990. They hold a 4.6-star rating from 52 reviews, which for a hardware store means consistent, knowledgeable service rather than flashy marketing.

The store carries the range of materials that local contractors and DIYers actually need: lumber, drywall, insulation, engineered wood products, and Benjamin Moore paint. Being a member of the South Okanagan Chamber of Commerce, they’re embedded in the local trades and contractor community rather than operating as a distant chain outlet. When a renovation crew in Osoyoos runs short on LVL headers at 4 pm on a Friday, Southside is the call that gets answered by someone who knows what they’re talking about.

For homeowners tackling smaller projects, the staff expertise translates to better buying decisions — not just selling product but helping customers understand quantities, compatibility, and application so the materials actually work together on the job.
