Since 2015, the average cost of fixing up your home has gone up by about 60%! Fancy stuff, like big kitchen or bathroom changes, can now cost around $150,000. Kitchens and bathrooms are still the rooms most people want to make better. They want layouts that work better, cool new stuff, and things that don’t use as much energy. Also, lots of families are living together, so people are adding apartments for relatives, extra kitchens, and rooms that can be used in different ways to make room for older parents or kids who are moving back. One reason for all this is that it’s hard to find houses to buy. So, more people are fixing up their current homes instead of moving. It costs a lot, but it’s worth it because you get a comfy, useful home that’s worth more in the long run. So, even though it costs more, fixing up homes is still on the rise because it fits what people need right now, from nice kitchens to room for the whole family. For lots of homeowners, it feels like the best idea to make their current space better in a market where it’s hard to find a new place. ---
