Providence Construction was founded in 2014 by Preston Smith in the Ohio Valley area near Wheeling. The company handles general contracting and home remodeling, and has a history of community-oriented project work that includes rebuilding efforts on the Gulf Coast following Hurricane Katrina — a background that reflects a team willing to take on challenging, high-stakes construction conditions. That kind of fieldwork experience — rebuilding in disaster-affected areas — builds problem-solving capacity that carries over into regular residential work. Preston Smith’s direct involvement in founding and running the company keeps project accountability tied to an individual rather than diffused across a corporate structure.
