# Patterson & Smith Construction — Custom Homes & Renovations in Stowe, VT (Est. 1991) Shapleigh Smith and Cleveland Patterson started the company in 1991 as Stowe-area contractors, and the business has stayed rooted there ever since. Chapman Smith, Shapleigh’s son, came on in 2003 and now runs the company as President — which means 30+ years of institutional knowledge stays in the organization rather than leaving when founders step back. They carry a 4.8-star rating on Houzz. Their focus is on full-scope residential work: new builds, custom homes, additions, and renovations for both primary homes and mountain-area vacation properties. ## Services New home construction, custom homes, additions, home extensions, and full residential renovations. They work with both primary homeowners and second-home owners across the Stowe region. ## Service area Stowe, VT and the broader northern Vermont mountain region. ## Contact 515 Moscow Road, Stowe, VT 05672 Phone: (802) 253-3757 Email: [info@pattersonandsmith.com](mailto:info@pattersonandsmith.com) Website: [pattersonandsmith.com](https://www.pattersonandsmith.com/) ## Why they’re listed here Stowe’s renovation and custom-build market has specific demands — mountain terrain, weather exposure, and a client mix of primary and vacation properties. Patterson & Smith’s 30+ years working in that context makes them a useful reference for homeowners in the area. ## More from home.renovation.reviews - Related: [Montpelier Construction LLC — Sustainable Builder in Central Vermont](https://home.renovation.reviews/t/montpelier-construction-llc/9644) - Resource: [Planning a Home Addition: What to Know Before You Start](https://blog.lfbuilders.ca/home-addition-planning-guide) - Main site: [LF Builders — 50 Years of Renovation in Toronto](https://lfbuilders.ca) - Charity: [Samm Simon’s 251km Run for Cancer Research](https://sammsimon.ca) * * *
