# Heritage Builders LLC — Design-Build Renovation & Additions in Germantown, TN (Est. 2004, Greg Mitchell)

Heritage Builders LLC is a design-build contractor based in Germantown, Tennessee. Greg Mitchell founded the company in 2004, and Heritage Builders has been running the full design-to-construction cycle in Shelby County ever since. They handle the design work, the budgeting, and the construction through a single team — which removes the coordination gap that sometimes opens up between an architect’s plans and what a contractor actually builds.

That integrated model is useful for addition and remodel projects, where design decisions and build decisions affect each other at every stage. Getting separate quotes from a designer and a contractor, then hoping they agree on what’s actually buildable at the budget, is a friction point Heritage Builders avoids by keeping both functions in-house.

## How the design-build model works here

Heritage Builders uses in-house design software to help clients visualize projects before construction begins. Seeing a kitchen layout or a room addition rendered before any walls come down gives homeowners a clearer basis for making decisions — and typically reduces mid-project changes that cost time and money once work is underway.

For projects in the larger remodel or addition range, that pre-build clarity matters. It’s much easier to move a door in a 3D model than it is to move it after framing. Greg Mitchell’s team has been walking clients through this process in Germantown for over 20 years, which means the design-to-build translation is something they’ve worked through across hundreds of project types, not just the straightforward ones.

## Why it’s on home.renovation.reviews

Greg Mitchell has been running the same operation in Germantown since 2004 with a 5-star client rating. Design-build contractors with two-decade track records in a single market are worth surfacing in a directory that covers the full Shelby County renovation landscape.
