# Gray Construction Co. — commercial general contractor in Watertown, SD

Gray Construction has operated out of Watertown since 1903, when Arthur A. Gray founded the firm after relocating his family from Belleville, Wisconsin. A few years in, Roy Rose and Lew Peters joined as partners, and the company grew into one of the region’s better-known commercial contractors. More than 120 years later, it’s still based at 180 2nd St. NE in Watertown and still focused on commercial, industrial, and municipal work across the area.

## Services

Gray handles the full scope of commercial general contracting: concrete pouring and finishing, structural steel erection, interior fit-outs, and finished carpentry. Most of their work comes from local businesses, municipal clients, and industrial operators who need a contractor with enough scale to manage complex projects but enough local knowledge to navigate the regional supply chain.

## Service area

Watertown and the surrounding communities in eastern South Dakota. Their longevity in the market means they have long-standing relationships with local subcontractors and suppliers across the region.

## Why it’s on home.renovation.reviews

Gray Construction is one of the older continuously operating contractors in South Dakota. A 120-year track record is unusual in any construction market, and for clients sourcing commercial work in the Watertown area, their name comes up consistently. Listing them here gives the directory a solid anchor point for the region.
