# GoodWood General Contracting — Commercial GC + Custom Homes in Barrie, Simcoe County (Scope & Region Correction, Since 1998)

GoodWood General Contracting is a **Barrie, Ontario** general contractor — not Innisfil as the original listing suggested, and **commercial-and-institutional-first** rather than the residential-only scope the old post implied. Founded in **1998** , the firm operates out of **399 Tollendal Mill Rd., Barrie, ON L4N 7T1** , reachable at **705.730.1543** and **[sales@goodwoodcontracting.com](mailto:sales@goodwoodcontracting.com)**, on the web at [goodwoodcontracting.com](http://goodwoodcontracting.com/). Dean Van Greunen is the principal referenced in client testimonials. GoodWood is **Tarion-registered** for its residential work and maintains **WHMIS** certification on the commercial side.

## Services

- **Commercial contracting** — glass wall systems, suspended ceilings, commercial office-space renovations
- **Food-service & hospitality** — restaurant and hospitality fit-outs and renovations
- **Recreation, wellness & accessibility** — rec centre, gym, and barrier-free project work
- **Custom homes & additions** — the firm’s residential arm, Tarion-backed

## Service Area

Barrie and the wider **Simcoe County** — including Innisfil, Oro-Medonte, Bradford, Angus, and adjacent Simcoe municipalities.

## Why it’s on home.renovation.reviews

GoodWood is one of the few **dual-scope (commercial + residential)** anchors in the Barrie / south-Simcoe bench on this directory. For homeowners whose project is an ADU, a home-based clinic, a bed-and-breakfast rebuild, or a basement conversion with a commercial use case, the crossover scope is real value — most of the Barrie bench is residential-only. At 28 years in continuous operation, the 1998 founding puts GoodWood firmly inside the directory’s **since-1990s tenure band** , alongside 714 Busy Beaver (1993), 833 Elite Home Builders (1993), 842 High Class Renovations (1998), and 757 Clément (1994).
