# Funny Window collapse

Not me, but my Mum.

Builder installed custom double glazed windows we had ordered, with small screws. The windows themselves were 3.5m tall and would have weighed around 700-800kg. Her house is in an extremely windy area (atop a valley where wind barrels for kilometres), and on a particularly gusty day, they fell in.

Luckily the house was still under construction then but it completely shattered a small wood stove, and marble bench that were in the extension of the house.

We had to pursue the builder through court, he eventually settled but it was an expensive, drawn out and emotionally draining experience.
