## Questions to Ask Before You Hire

Surrey’s renovation market is active and competitive. Before signing with Excel Dream Construction or any other Surrey contractor, walk through these:

- **What does your subtrade management look like on site?** Excel operates with in-house project coordination, which means the GC manages the schedule rather than leaving it to individual trades to coordinate. Confirm who is on site each day.
- **How are material selections and approvals handled?** For kitchen and bathroom work especially, the timeline can stall if selections are not locked in early. Ask for a decisions timeline alongside the project schedule.
- **What does your warranty coverage include?** BC contractors are subject to the Homeowner Protection Act — understanding which warranty tier applies to your scope protects you if deficiencies surface post-completion.

Excel Dream’s 4.9-star average suggests they handle these questions comfortably, but asking them sets clear expectations on both sides before work begins.
