# Ed Groen Contracting — ICF, Windows & Doors, Renovations in Grand Valley, Dufferin County

Ed Groen Contracting is a Grand Valley-based construction company with more than 30 years of continuous operation out of 241090, Concession 2-3 in East Luther Grand Valley Township. The service mix is an unusually specialized combination for a Dufferin County shop: insulated concrete forms (ICF) for foundations and above-grade walls, window and door installations, and general home renovation work. ICF expertise puts the firm in a narrow trade specialty that matters for energy-efficient new builds, cottage construction, and basement rebuilds where a conventional poured wall doesn’t hit R-value targets. Paired with window and door installs — another envelope-performance trade — the shop reads as an energy-and-envelope specialist operating under a generalist name.

## Services

- **Insulated concrete forms (ICF)** — foundations and above-grade ICF walls for custom homes, additions, and cottages where envelope thermal performance is the design driver
- **Window installations** — new construction and retrofit window installs across Dufferin County
- **Door installations** — exterior entry, patio, and interior door assemblies, rough-opening correction work included
- **General renovations** — interior and exterior renovation scopes that pair naturally with the envelope trades

## Service Area

Grand Valley, East Luther Grand Valley Township, Orangeville, Shelburne, Amaranth, Mono, and rural Dufferin County — plus the broader Hockley Valley / Mulmur / Melancthon cottage-and-rural market within one commute.

## Why it’s on home.renovation.reviews

Ed Groen is the anchor ICF listing in the directory — the first shop we’ve added whose foundation expertise is the primary trade rather than a checklist item on a generalist GC’s service page. That makes it a natural cross-link target for any future cottage-build, custom-home, or cold-climate-envelope listings. The 30+ year continuous operation out of a single rural Dufferin address also makes it one of the longer-tenured shops in the directory. With Angle’s Construction (Northern Ontario), Rivard Bros (Temiskaming), and Pat Noble Lumber (Manitoulin, since 1949) already listed, the long-tenure rural-Ontario slice of the directory is filling in fast.
