This DIY entryway bench project was done in a **home in Raleigh, North Carolina**. The entryway needed seating and storage, and a simple wooden bench seemed like a good weekend project.

**Before photo – cluttered entryway**.

Cutting the wood went fine, but assembling everything took longer than expected. One piece was slightly off, which made the bench wobble at first. I had to loosen the screws and adjust the frame to get it stable.

**During renovation – bench assembly**.

Once assembled, I sanded and stained the bench. The stain dried darker than I expected, and one corner absorbed more color than the rest. I considered sanding it down again but decided to leave it.

**After photo – finished entryway bench**.

The bench isn’t perfect, but it’s solid and useful. For a **Raleigh** home, it added function without needing a full entryway renovation.

🪑 **Honest Thought**

DIY projects always take longer than the plan on paper.
