# Cardinal Construction — Home Renovations in Newcastle & East Durham Cardinal Construction is a Newcastle, Ontario renovation firm serving the eastern edge of Durham Region — a band of older country-style homes and newer builds where projects typically mix cosmetic updates with structural catch-up. Their website is [cardinal-construction.ca](http://cardinal-construction.ca/). ## Services - **Whole-home renovations** — multi-phase projects that touch plumbing, electrical, and finish carpentry in one coordinated scope of work. - **Kitchen updates** — layout reworks, cabinetry, islands, and connected dining reconfigurations. - **Bathroom renovations** — tile, waterproofing, vanities, tub-to-shower conversions. - **Basement finishing** — egress, insulation, drywall, and secondary-suite-ready layouts where local zoning allows. - **Additions** — main-floor extensions and second-storey adds for families staying put rather than moving up the market. ## Service Area Newcastle is the home base, with regular work in Bowmanville, Courtice, Oshawa, Port Hope, and the rural stretches north toward Orono. East-Durham homeowners who struggle to book GCs past Courtice are often the target audience for a listing like this. ## Why it’s on home.renovation.reviews Cardinal is a useful datapoint for homeowners east of Oshawa who struggle to find contractors willing to travel past Courtice. Keeping east-Durham listings visible in the directory reduces the “nobody services my area” search problem we see repeatedly in the forum’s east-GTA threads. ## More from home.renovation.reviews - Neighbouring GC: [Cornerstone Construction (Oshawa)](https://home.renovation.reviews/t/cornerstone-construction/605) - Durham comparison: [CCR Renovations (Whitby)](https://home.renovation.reviews/t/ccr-renovations/382) - Bathroom planning reference: [Modern Bathrooms 2026 Design Guide](https://blog.lfbuilders.ca/blog/modern-bathrooms-2026-vanities-showers/) - Main site: [LF Builders](https://lfbuilders.ca/) * * * ---
