## Why Energy-Efficient Windows Matter in Ontario

Ontario winters are some of the most demanding in North America for window performance. High-efficiency windows with low-e coatings and argon-gas fills significantly reduce heat loss through the glass unit — which in older GTA homes accounts for a substantial portion of heating bills. Look for windows with an Energy Star Canada certification and an ER (Energy Rating) of 34 or higher for the coldest Ontario climate zones. Proper installation with continuous air sealing at the frame perimeter is just as important as the window itself — a premium window poorly installed leaks as badly as a builder-grade unit.
