# Borrow, Rent, or Buy? The Quiet Money Question

One renovation mistake I made early on was buying tools I’d use once. A tile saw sat in my shed like a ghost of projects past.

Now I borrow from neighbors, rent what I’ll only use occasionally, and buy only tools that serve multiple jobs.

Hardware stores rent everything from floor sanders to concrete mixers. That approach lets you work like a professional without paying like one.

It keeps the garage uncluttered and the budget sane.
