Every contractor I’ve talked to says the same thing: their schedule opens up once the busy season ends, and quotes come in lower than what neighbors paid for spring starts. The logic is that crews are hungry in the slow months, so you book cheaper and the basement is actually done before everyone else starts calling. Waiting until spring seems to mean joining the back of the line and paying peak prices for the same work. Has anyone here compared off-season versus peak-season quotes on a basement project, and did the savings hold up in the end?
