**The Problem**

The bathroom in a small apartment in **Chicago, Illinois** had a few loose tiles near the shower. They didn’t look dangerous at first, but water was seeping under them, and it could cause bigger problems later.

**Loose tiles before**.

**What We Did**

We removed the loose tiles carefully, cleaned out the old adhesive, and reset them with fresh thin-set mortar. Some tiles were slightly chipped, but I tried to fit them in as best as possible. It wasn’t perfect, but it stopped the water from getting underneath.

**Mid-fix / applying mortar**.

**The Result**

The tiles are stable now and the area is safe to use. If you look closely, you’ll notice a couple of small gaps, but for a DIY fix, it works well. The bathroom feels cleaner and more secure now.

**Finished tiles**.
