# Baker Construction & Development — 40-Year Commercial & Multifamily Contractor in Spokane, WA

Baker Construction & Development has been operating in Spokane for over 40 years, which puts it in a different category from the typical residential remodeler. The company, led by CEO Dave Black, focuses primarily on commercial tenant improvements, retail and office spaces, and multifamily housing. A notable completed project: the conversion of the historic James S. Black Building into 50 apartment units. For property owners, developers, or businesses with larger-scope renovation needs, this is an established name in the Spokane market.

## Services

- Commercial tenant improvements: retail storefronts, office renovations, and restaurant build-outs
- Multifamily housing construction and adaptive reuse conversion projects
- Regulatory navigation across city, state, and national compliance requirements
- Subcontractor coordination on complex multi-trade projects

## Service area

Spokane, WA and the greater Inland Northwest region

## Why it’s on home.renovation.reviews

Baker’s 4.6-star rating across 31 reviews, combined with 40+ years of operational history, puts it among the more established contractors in Spokane. The James S. Black Building conversion is a credential that residential-focused contractors rarely carry. Worth considering for renovation scopes that go beyond a single-family home.
