Accent walls are a strong design tool in the renovation and they provide a means of adding colour, texture or pattern without overwhelming a room. They form focal points which attract the eye, emphasise architectural elements and add character to interiors.

Modern renovations may be done with the help of accent walls painted, covered with wallpaper, textured panels, wood, stone, or metal. One bold colour or patterned wall can radically change the room but natural materials such as wood or stone can add some warmth and depth. Metallic or glass finishes may also be applied to provide a smooth luxurious feel in modern designs. Accent walls can be used as well in the open places where they assist in defining functional areas without physical barriers.

Accent walls are aesthetically and proportionally balanced in terms of design. Colours must match the palette of the surrounding, materials must match the flooring, furniture, and light. It should be well placed such as behind a sofa, bed or main wall in the living rooms, bedrooms, or the dining rooms. Accent walls are also helpful in exterior renovations and an entrance, facade, or outdoor seating can be emphasised by contrasting textures or colours.

Accent walls, as far as functionality is concerned, focus attention and improve spatial perception. They are able to create a bigger look in small spaces by highlighting the important space or create intimacy by highlighting a particular space. Moreover, accent walls may be textured or have more material that enhances the acoustics or gives a sense of touch that enhances the interior environment.

Conclusion:
Accent walls are a design feature in both the interior and exterior renovation, which incorporates aesthetic, texture, and functionality to form powerful points of focus. They raise the level of visual interest, emphasise the architectural elements, and lead to space perception. Accent walls are an effective and flexible resource to add a personality touch and add sophistication to the renovated spaces to make them beautiful and well composed.
