Not every DIY project turns out great, but this one in **Austin** , **Texas** was surprisingly worth the effort.

The wall itself was plain and didn’t add much to the room. Instead of repainting the whole space, the idea was to create a small accent feature that wouldn’t cost much or take weeks to finish.

The process was straightforward. The wall was cleaned, measured carefully, and a simple panel-style design was added using basic materials. Nothing fancy, just patience and accurate spacing.

One thing that helped was doing all the measuring twice before installing anything. That saved a lot of frustration later.

Once painted, the wall looked completely different. It added depth to the room without overwhelming the space. Total cost stayed around **$120** , mostly materials and paint.

If you’re in **Austin** and looking for a DIY upgrade that doesn’t require heavy tools, wall projects like this are a good place to start.
